Review: Diamine Polar Glow

The name of this ink is appropriate to the cold weather we've been having!

Polar Glow comes in a bottle that is quite ornate. It is glass, with four rounded 'feet' underneath the body, which is square with walls that curve inwards. It is also big, holding 50ml of ink. The hole at the top is sealed with a screw-on cap, and when this is unscrewed, there is ample room to admit even the widest of pens!

This is yet another dazzling sheen ink from Diamine, a deep blue that is almost black. But when it dries, the brighter blue sheen reveals itself in all its glittery glory. It is definitely eye-catching, and the sheen is very fine, so you don't need to worry about the pen feed getting clogged up with all the shiny.

The ink itself is a bit wetter than other Diamine inks that I use, but it works great for fountain pens with a finer nib. You'll want to use a paper that doesn't bleed or feather easily, unless 'blobby' is the look you're going for. I'm going to assume it isn't, so a thick, smooth paper will be best.

Apart from this, the ink is very attractive, and 50ml should last a good long time!
